BTL15: Natwest gearing up to receive email documentation
Natwest has confirmed brokers will be able to email client documents soon, with the lender working hard over the last month to launch the process.

Addressing delegates at the Buy to Let Market Forum 2015, Dave Toulson, senior corporate manager, said the launch was “fairly imminent” but would not give an exact date.

Toulson added that Natwest would be getting a new online system for brokers in 2016 but would be making changes to email documents before then. Currently brokers are only able to fax customer documents to the lender.

“Email documents is coming,” Toulson said. “I’m not going to give you an exact date but I’ll say it’s fairly imminent. We are getting a new online system and I’ll say that’s next year, but we don’t want to wait until next year for email docs so we’re doing something now.”

A number of providers have moved to allow brokers to upload and send photographs of mortgage application documents via smartphone or tablet in recent months, with Barclays being the first to do so earlier this year.
