Fleet Mortgages announces further expansion plans
Fleet Mortgages has set out plans to boost recruitment with the goal of increasing staff numbers in the operations team by 50% by the end of the year.

The lender’s pipeline business has increased 36% between March and April while lending volumes have increased month-on-month since its launch at the end of 2014.

The firm has increased recruitment in order to deal with the increase in business, with a particular focus on boosting numbers in its underwriting team. Staff numbers in its operations team have grown 30% since the start of the year.

Figures published by Fleet last month showed the lender had £145m worth of buy-to-let business put through its system by intermediaries in the first three months of 2015, with an average loan size across all product types of £245,000.

The lender also announced it would be moving to a new permanent headquarters in Fleet, Hampshire, in August to accommodate the growth in employee numbers and expansion plans for the business.

CEO Bob Young said: “Our development and growth continues to exceed our expectations and therefore we have accelerated our expansion plans which will allow us to meet the growing level of interest in our products and proposition.

“We have already recruited a number of new employees to the Operations team and we will be adding further experienced personnel to the business shortly.”
