Mortgage industry heavyweights brave skydive for charity
The Openwork Foundation brings together mortgage firms to raise money for charity

Mortgage industry heavyweights have teamed together for a charity skydive jump to raise money for the Openwork Foundation.

Paul Shearman, proposition director – mortgages, protection and general insurance, is leading the jump to celebrate 10 years of fundraising for good causes.

Among the team are; Nationwide’s Gary Salter, Mortgage Brain CEO Mark Lofthouse, Kensington’s Sarah Green, Emma Newell of Lloyds Banking Group and Dave Gillam of TSB.

The Openwork Foundation funds grants to support children and young people in the UK and overseas, up to 18 years of age, who are socially, mentally or physically disadvantaged. This includes young carers from the age of five who need time to be children rather than carers.

Over the last 10 years it has raised £5.2m and has helped 132,000 children.

“Anything we raise will be matched by the Zurich Foundation so please dig deep as we fly high,” said Shearman.

The skydive will take place on 11 June. Anyone wishing to donate to the charity can go online or by cheque payable to The Openwork Foundation posted to Sam Tesch, Openwork Foundation, Washington House, Lydiard Fields, Swindon SN5 8UB.
