From today, 10 house purchase mortgages are available with the new incentives, starting from rates of 2.19% for a three-year fixed rate.
The products are available in-branch, online or over the telephone and are not currently on offer through the lender’s intermediary arm, Accord Mortgages.
At present, Accord offers two mortgages with product fees to customers with a 5% deposit. Yorkshire BS said it was working on extending Accord’s range of products with no up-front fees to all LTV tiers.
Additional highlights from the direct business include a fee-free five-year fixed rate mortgage starting at 2.54% with £1,000 cash back and both the three-year and five-year products are available between 65% and 95% LTV.
In contrast, its five year fixed rate at 2.54% through Accord Mortgages comes with a product fee of £345 and £250 cashback.
Yorkshire BS said it had introduced the new range to help borrowers to get on, or move up, the property ladder.
Jemma Anderson, Yorkshire Building Society mortgage manager, said: “Paying up-front fees is often a major obstacle for some home buyers and we have tried to ease that pressure with these new mortgages.
“We hope removing our up-front fees and giving £1,000 cashback on this new range of mortgages will help people buy the property they want and turn it into a home.”
