Connect drops ‘club’ in rebrand to convey wider broker services
Connect Mortgage Club has changed its name to Connect for Intermediaries to better reflect the full range of services that Connect offers its brokers, including its specialist buy-to-let and commercial network.

Liz Syms (pictured), managing director at Connect, said: “It is important that we present our service and product offerings clearly. The word ‘club’ in our industry has certain connotations and having it in our name has caused ambiguity amongst brokers as to the services that we offer.”

To avoid this Syms said Connect had chosen a name which conveyed the message that its proposition was geared to support the whole broker community which includes a network, packaging and distribution services and a helpdesk to provide specialist knowledge for both UK and international enquiries.

This year Connect announced its partnership with Twenty7Tec, to offer its members a combined mortgage, secured loan and bridging sourcing tool which meets the requirements of the Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD). Earlier this month, Liz Syms attended The Mortgage and Protection Event, where she urged mortgage brokers to consider the record keeping of advice they give to consumer buy-to-let customers.
