The lender is set to launch in February with David Finlay, formerly managing director of the mortgage intermediary division at Barclays, as distribution director.
On the appointment, Finlay said: “Following a robust review of our valuation requirements, we are delighted to have selected Gateway as our new panel manager. The careful management of our valuation process is a crucial and an integral part of our mortgage lending business, and we were particularly impressed with Gateway’s attention to detail and its commitment to risk management.”
Gateway managing director Pete Hughes said the company had been steadily growing over the last 12 months and this partnership reflected the progress it had made in becoming a major player in panel management.
