Roma expands business development team
Roma Finance, the Manchester-based bridging and development lender, has appointed three new business development managers as part of expansion plans.

Roma recently reported a multi-million pound post-Brexit funding facility via The Royal Bank of Scotland and a 300% increase in lending volumes in the first half of 2016. The new BDMs are tasked with further building introducer relationships.

The lender has appointed Steve Smith, Dave Bibby and Tom Gill for the South West, Central and Midlands and North West regions respectively.

Smith brings over 20 years’ experience in retail and commercial banking with a background in bridging finance, asset finance, invoice finance and all types of commercial lending including brokering.

Bibby has concentrated on property finance for 16 years, with a particular focus on development funding. He has worked at NatWest, Anglo Irish Bank, Santander and Together.

Gill has over 10 years’ experience in the second charge, bridging and commercial sectors and previously worked at Loan Options and Merchant Business Finance.

Simon Micklethwaite, North East BDM, continues in his role.

Roma director Scott Marshall said: “With our lending increasing significantly now that we are seeing the positive impact of the securitisation, our strategic plans are quickly becoming a reality.

“We’ve had several record months and to be able to announce three high calibre appointments is terrific news for the company. I’m delighted to welcome the new BDMs to Roma and I’m confident they will play a major role in taking Roma to further growth and success.”
