Shawbrook hires BDMs for north and south
Shawbrook has appointed two business development managers (BDMs) to its residential mortgages field sales team.

Vicky Pearce and Dean Linklater will be responsible for the south and north regions respectively.

Pearce joins from Aldermore where she was commercial, residential and specialist buy to let BDM. She has also worked as a residential underwriter at Santander.

She said: “Having a background across commercial, residential and buy to let mortgages gives me the best chance possible to help my brokers meet theirs and their customers’ needs. Shawbrook has such a positive reputation in the market when it comes to their service proposition and I really wanted to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to visiting all of the southern based brokers as I settle into this dynamic and welcoming team.”

Linklater started his career at Santander during its days as Abbey National while his most recent roles include regional sales manager for Magellan Homeloans and as a BDM for Bridgebank Capital and GE Money.

He said: “I’m looking to build on the expert and progressive service that Shawbrook is renowned for, but I also hope to bring fresh ideas on how we as a lender can work with the new distribution route of mortgage ARs and DAs. Giving brokers and customers more choice, while promoting practices that encourage a seamless experience is key to this. The goal for me is to help Shawbrook be recognised as the go-to lender for both complex specialist first charge and second charge lending for all intermediaries.”

Maeve Ward (pictured), managing director of Shawbrook Residential Mortgages said both new starters had “intelligent ideas” about how the bank could improve the overall experience for its brokers.

She added: “I’m excited to see them put these ideas into practice as we expand our offering, while maintaining the people-focused approach to good sense lending that has been a catalyst for our growth so far.”
