Fall in listings leading to ‘surging’ part exchange ‒ Spicerhaart
Spicerhaart Part Exchange and Assisted Move has seen sales jump by 46 per cent in the first half of the year, and pointed to a drop in listings as a contributing factor.

The business, which is part of the wider Spicerhaart group, said it had seen increases across all areas of the business, with instructions rising by 235 while exchanges have jumped by 29 per cent.

The firm has more than doubled staff numbers over the year, but said it is still “actively expanding” ahead of relocating to new offices in Sheffield in October.

And it pointed to a fall in property listings as one reason why there had been a surge in interest in its services.

Jan Biggins, national sales manager at Spicerhaart Part Exchange and Assisted Move, said the market had been “tough for some time now” with vendors reluctant to sell.

She continued: “This means there are nowhere near as many listings at the moment, which means people are looking to new homes instead if they want to move or make that first step onto the housing ladder.

“This therefore means that demand for part-exchange is at an all-time high.”
