Skipton Building Society has hired Hannah Garside as a telephone business development manager (TBDM).
Garside (pictured) has most recently been working as a mortgage adviser for the mutual, a role she held for three years.
She joined the mutual in 2014 as part of the BDM support team, before moving on to the resource team and then into mortgage advice.
Garside said: “I am excited for this next step in my career within Skipton Building Society and I am really looking forward to getting to speak with brokers again, build up positive relationships and be a great support for them within the society.
“My career so far has allowed me to get a real understanding of brokers and how to build lasting relationships which are key skills to have in this role.”
She added: “It is a strange time to be moving into a new role due to the challenges brought on by the pandemic, however my team have been very supportive, and it just shows how Skipton are focussed on investing and developing their people.”
Shekina is the deputy editor at Mortgage Solutions and commercial editor at Mortgage Solutions and Specialist Lending Solutions. She has nearly eight years of experience in the B2B publishing market, having previously covered the hospitality, retail, pet, accounting and jewellery sectors.
Shekina has worked for Mortgage Solutions and Specialist Lending Solutions for almost five years. Here, she covers the market’s breaking news stories, engages with professionals in the sector, and oversees any commercially agreed content in partnership with mortgage-related companies.
This includes presenting webinars and hosting roundtable discussions on developing themes in the mortgage sector.
She is an NCTJ-trained journalist and was nominated for the Headline Money Awards Mortgage Journalist of the Year in 2021.
In her spare time, Shekina likes to read, travel, listen to music and socialise with friends.
She currently reports on current events in the mortgage market and liaises with financial clients to produce sponsored content.
