Buildstore appoints Landsdowne marketing head
The Buildstore Group has appointed Michelle Lansdowne as head of group marketing.

The Buildstore Group includes two mortgage brokerages: BuildLoan, a specialist broker for intermediaries to partner with, and Buildstore Mortgage Services, which provides advice to borrowers directly.

Lansdowne joins from software firm KMsoft, and previously spent four years as group marketing and communications manager at construction business Mactaggert and Mickel Group.

In her new role, she will be tasked with increasing growth and audience engagement. The Buildstore Group noted that the self and custom build industry was already growing due to a rising interest in people wanting to build their own homes, while the launch of the new Help to Build Equity Loan scheme later this year is likely to boost interest further.

Lansdowne noted she was joining the firm at a “pivotal moment”, and said that having come from a construction background she was “well aware of the challenges and the huge opportunities within the self and custom build industry”.

Raymond Conner, CEO of Buildstore, added: “We have seen a big rise in demand for self and custom build and are busy preparing for the imminent launch of Help to Build which will give a massive boost to the sector.”

Last week BuildLoan launched a platform designed to make it easier for brokers to source appropriate products for clients interested in building their own home, while it has partnered with a host of lenders to launch dedicated self-build products recently including Buckinghamshire BS and Nottingham BS.
