Conveyancing provider making ‘progress’ after massive IT glitch
Conveyancing services provider Simplify Group has claimed that it is making progress on getting its systems back up and running after a major security breach caused many of its websites and online systems to be taken down.

Simplify operates a host of brands within the conveyancing sector, including My Home Move, Moving Made Easy, Move With Us, and Advantage Property Lawyers.

Last week a security breach meant some of its sites and systems had to be taken down, though the firm has still not confirmed precisely what happened. This led to buyers and vendors who were using Simplify brands as part of their transaction panicking about whether the deal would complete.

In a statement on its website, Simplify said its teams had been working to restore normal business operations and enable clients to move, with “good progress being made”.

It noted that last week it had completed all exchanged transactions with a fixed completion date, and expected to do the same this week, acknowledging how “challenging” this situation has been for its clients.

The Simplify statement continued: “We have also substantially increased our customer relations teams to enable us to proactively contact almost all clients who are scheduled to complete. We had several days with minimal telephone capacity, but we now have hundreds of colleagues making outbound phone calls to clients and this team are calling every client with an update.”

However, the company said there was still no firm date as yet for when all of its IT systems will be back in normal operation.
