Hodge will start to write all residential mortgage business, including 50 plus residential, retirement interest-only (RIO) and holiday let mortgages, after temporarily suspending new business in June.

Last month, the lender said it would temporarily close to new business across all its mortgage ranges from Thursday 16 June as business volumes were at record highs and it wanted to maintain its service levels.

Hodge is open for new applications as of 9am today, with service level agreements returning to 48 hours and other service guarantees to intermediary partners back in place.

The firm said products available through its commercial lending division would remain unaffected as the announcement related to personal mortgage products.

Emma Graham (pictured), Hodge’s mortgages business development director, said: “We pride ourselves on both our service and the fact that our underwriters assess applications on a case-by-case basis.

“We remain fully committed to maintaining a personal approach but will continue to invest in technology to provide additional levels of automation while ensuring we’re able to offer the services our brokers have come to expect.”
