Vernon Building Society has appointed Jack Dougan (pictured) as national business development manager, where he will oversee mortgage book growth and intermediary relations.
He takes over from Caroline Shard, who had worked at the society for around 17 years.
Dougan has worked at Vernon Building Society since 2021, initially joining as intermediary desk adviser, where he helped brokers with their cases.
Prior to that he was a financial assistance agent at Barclays for just under a year and before that worked at RSC New Homes for around seven years.
Vernon Building Society offers first-time buyer, purchase remortgage, buy-to-let, holiday let, self-build, retirement, buy for uni and additional borrowing products.
Brendan Crowshaw, head of mortgage and savings distribution at Vernon, added: “We’re delighted to promote Jack to business development manager and have been hugely impressed by his expertise in the intermediary mortgage market during his time on the broker desk.
“As an ex-broker, Jack has strong empathy with the intermediary sector and knows that delivering great personal service is an absolute priority for the society.”
Dougan said: “I’m thrilled to be taking up this role with the Vernon and continuing to work in the society’s fantastic intermediary mortgage team.
“We’re committed to supporting brokers and put intermediaries at the centre of our strategy. Now I can’t wait to get started in my new role and get out and about meeting our broker partners.”
