Santander appoints Morris as head of homes

David Morris has been appointed head of homes at Santander UK, and he will have the responsibility of managing the lender’s mortgage portfolio.
Morris has more than 17 years of experience in financial services, and most recently was chief commercial officer at Yorkshire Building Society. He has been in this role for more than six years.
His previous roles also include two-and-a-half years as head of products at Coventry Building Society and more than three years as unit head of banking products at Commercial Bank.
Morris will officially join Santander later this year and report to Enrique Alvarez, Santander UK’s retail and business banking chief executive.
Morris’ duties will include developing data-driven solutions for Santander’s mortgage customers, driving new mortgage business and leading the digital strategy in homes.
Alvarez said: “I am delighted to welcome David to Santander UK as our new head of homes. He brings a huge amount of experience, most recently in designing and implementing a new mortgage trading strategy at Yorkshire Building Society. The team and I look forward to working with him and benefitting from his expertise.
