Mortgage platform Smartr365 and Lloyds Banking Group have entered a commercial partnership to enhance the full mortgage application process.

This builds on the existing partnership between the two firms that began five years ago, and saw Smartr365 and Lloyds Banking Group deliver the first application programming interface (API) integration in the UK mortgage market.

The latest agreement will extend the integration beyond the decision in principle (DIP) stage and cover the entire application process.

The 5,100 brokers with access to Smart365 will benefit from the development, including advisers at Sesame, Legal and General and Just Mortgages.

The agreement is expected to provide a seamless and efficient mortgage application process.

Conor Murphy (pictured), CEO of Smartr365, said: “This is a major milestone for both Smartr365 and Lloyds Banking Group, and we believe it will be transformative for the industry.

“Our extended integration will set a new standard in the mortgage sector, benefitting brokers and clients alike.”

Laura Myers, intermediary distribution development manager at Lloyds Banking Group, said: “API integrations are integral to the development of an end-to-end digital home buying experience, with a simpler, slicker process allowing more time for brokers to engage with customers.”
