Paragon has appointed James Harding as a business development manager (BDM) to support brokers in Scotland.

Harding takes over from Holly Morrison, who was BDM for Scotland before taking on the national account manager role.

He has worked at Paragon for around two years, initially joining as a completions officer and then becoming a member of the retentions and further advance team.

Louisa Sedgwick, Paragon Bank’s commercial director for mortgages, said: “James is a fantastic addition to the team. He is well-placed to help our broker partners in Scotland get applications over the line.”

Harding added: “Having worked at Paragon for a couple of years, I’ve been able to hit the ground running. I’m looking forward to branching out all over Scotland and building relationships with intermediaries of all sizes, supporting landlords in the country to provide much-needed new rental homes.”

Paragon’s latest financial report showed new buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage lending in the first half of the year came to £649.3m, a fall from £1.02bn in the same period last year.
