Connells Group, part of the Skipton Group, has appointed Helen Charlesworth (pictured) as its group CEO, subject to regulatory approval.

She takes over from Richard Twigg, chief finance and commercial officer, who has been acting as interim CEO since David Livesey confirmed last year that he planned to retire in 2024 after more than 30 years at Connells Group.

Charlesworth was most recently managing director of the Stonegate Group, the UK’s largest pub company, where she worked for around eight years.

Before that, she was managing director of Panacea Consulting for around two years, and prior to that, she was managing director at Your Move for around two years.

The company said that Charlesworth was “renowned for her exceptional leadership qualities, which she has demonstrated across various sectors including retail, hospitality and estate agency”.

Stuart Haire, Skipton Group’s chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Helen as Connells’ new group CEO and look forward to working with her to help Connells onto even more exciting successes.

“I would also like to thank Richard Twigg for the excellent role that he has played over the last twelve months as interim CEO – Richard will revert to his formal role of chief finance and commercial officer following Helen’s induction.”

Charlesworth added: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Connells Group and am looking forward to getting back into estate agency.”
