ModaMortgages has appointed Shannon O’Malley (pictured right) and Thomas Churchill (pictured left) as business development managers (BDM).

ModaMortgages said the appointments are part of its aim to support brokers nationwide.

O’Malley’s move to ModaMortgages, where she will cover the South East, marks her first step into a field-based role, having previously worked at Landbay as a telephone BDM for around two years.

At the same time, Churchill will cover the South West, South Midlands and South Wales.

He has a decade of experience in the industry and previously worked for more than five years at Co-operative Bank, where he rose to the position of key account relationship manager, and was previously a BDM for TSB Bank.

O’Malley and Churchill join BDMs Bec Murray and George Morgan, as well as senior BDM Becki Fraser-Tucker.

The BDMs will report into Scott Phillips, head of sales, while ModaMortgages’ director of sales and distribution Darrell Walker oversees the entire sales and BDM team along with distribution.

ModaMortgages ‘hugely passionate about building a diverse team’

Walker said: “We’re hugely passionate about building a diverse team – one that blends youth with experience and shares the goal of making ModaMortgages the home of ‘smarter, faster, simpler’ BTL mortgages.

“Shannon and Thomas are wonderful additions to our team, and this increases our coverage across all regions of England and Wales, which will ensure we deliver the best possible support to brokers nationwide as we prepare for our launch.”

O’Malley said: “I’m delighted to have joined ModaMortgages. It’s really exciting to come to a new lender, and the quality of the team they have built speaks for itself.

“There is such a clear vision for how ModaMortgages will go about working with brokers, with a razor-sharp focus on delivering an exceptional, pain-free experience. I cannot wait to play my part in the journey.”

Churchill added: “It’s great to be welcomed into ModaMortgages’ team. We are at the start of something very exciting here, and I have no doubt that our no-nonsense approach to BTL lending is exactly what the broker market is crying out for.

“I’m really looking forward to throwing myself into the new role and connecting with brokers across the South West, South Midlands and South Wales.”

ModaMortgages will launch ‘smarter, faster, simpler’ mortgages

ModaMortgages is the soon-to-launch specialist buy-to-let mortgage lender from Chetwood Financial, a Wrexham-based digital bank founded in 2016.

Chetwood Financial has been building the ModaMortgages team in preparation for its launch, which will see the lender focus on being a provider of “smarter, faster, simpler” mortgages.

The lender is expected to combine a people-focused approach with technology to enable instant decisions, an online calculator, case tracking and live chat.
