Mortgage and protection advice firm Access Financial Services (Access FS) has appointed Adrian Brewer to the newly created role of head of later life.

Brewer joins from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) Later Life, where he was a branch manager. He has around 30 years of experience in financial lending, including 20 years at Beech Financial, where he was a manager and specialised in arranging short-term loans.

Access FS has hired Brewer in recognition of the growing later life lending market for borrowers aged 55 and over. The firm said his appointment would allow it to add a new component to the business.

Brewer will be responsible for growing Access FS’ later life proposition, develop awareness of the benefits of later life lending among advisers and drive new business.

Brewer (pictured) said: “It’s great to be back in the intermediary marketplace and heading up the new later life business at Access FS.

“I am passionate about later life lending and looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with the talented Access FS advisers. Adviser education is a large part of my role.”

Karl Wilkinson, founder and CEO of Access FS, added: “Adrian is a great asset to the business.

“He will develop our later life offering, streamline our processes and further embed our deep-seated culture of holistic advice across the group.”

Brewer’s appointment follows the firm’s September announcement of the appointment of Nicholas Jones to the newly created role of mortgage sales and marketing director.

Access FS has continued to grow year-on-year and recorded a 46% increase in turnover in 2024.
