
Melville is currently the head of everyday banking and business banking and chief executive of Santander UK’s private bank subsidiary, Cater Allen.
Her experience in the financial sector includes over 12 years at Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) in a number of roles including group propositions director, open banking director and, most recently, MD of commercialisation and propositions.
She was also on the Fnality International board for two years.
Melville is expected to join the Coventry Building Society Group in June to lead The Co-operative Bank’s executive team, be responsible for the group’s trading performance and support its integration plans.
At the beginning of this year, Coventry Building Society completed its acquisition of The Co-operative Bank, which saw Nick Slape retire from his position as chief executive of the bank.

Steve Hughes, group chief executive of Coventry Building Society Group, has been holding the role in the interim. Each lender will retain their respective banking licences and be integrated over time.
