He will be responsible for developing business with mortgage intermediaries, brokers and financial advisers, and report to Sarah Watts, partnerships director at Allianz UK.
Allianz said McLoughlin’s appointment demonstrated the company’s investment and commitment to the UK intermediary market, which it said was key to its multi-product, multi-channel strategy.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector and was most recently national sales manager at LV= General Insurance. He has previously worked at Legal & General (L&G) and Homeserve.
Watts said: “We are delighted that Scott will lead Allianz’s intermediary team. With a wealth of experience and excellent leadership skills, he is well placed to help us grow our business with mortgage brokers and financial advisers.”
McLoughlin added: “I’m delighted for the opportunity to lead such a talented team that will drive growth in the Allianz intermediary business. Together we will focus on strengthening partnerships, enhancing customer experiences and delivering exceptional value.”
Last month, Allianz launched a short-term income protection policy.
