Fleet appoints Ian Hawes to internal sales team leader
Buy-to-let and specialist lender Fleet Mortgages has appointment Ian Hawes to the role of internal sales team leader.

Hawes joined Fleet Mortgages as a sales executive in 2015 after gaining experience as commercial insurance sales adviser.

In his new role he will be responsible for managing the international sales executives and telephone sales teams.

Chief executive Bob Young (pictured) said: “Where possible our policy at Fleet Mortgages is always to promote through the ranks, where that promotion is merited. Since joining us Ian has shown all the skills and attributes necessary to take on this role and to excel in it.”

Fleet distributes its products exclusively through intermediaries. The firm overhauled its product range following the Brexit vote and added an individual two-year fixed loan at 70% LTV, alongside a two-year fixed HMO loan at 65% LTV and two limited company products at 65% LTV and 70% LTV.

The firm had already made changes to its offering in July when it dropped its minimum valuation for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and ex-Local Authority properties from £150,000 to £100,000 in regions outside London and the South East.

It also cut the maximum aggregate exposure landlord borrowers can have from 65% to 60% for amounts of up to £2m, and introduced a further tier of 55% for loans up to £5m.

Fleet withdrew the higher loan-to-value (LTV) products, including all of its 80% and some of its 75% and 65% LTVs from its mortgage range in late June, amid fears property prices may fall following Brexit.
