Kent Reliance, Shawbrook and Kuflink hire key people – roundup
Kent Reliance and Shawbrook have added to their broker-facing teams while Kuflink has appointed a former Barclaycard financial director.

 

Kent Reliance for Intermediaries has appointed Kate Welland as senior business development manager for East Midlands, joining from Newcastle BS where she was an intermediary business development manager for the Midlands.

Welland reports into James Forth, regional sales manager for the North and West.

She will have full responsibility for overseeing and developing broker relationships within her region and increasing access the lender’s proposition.

Welland said she was looking forward to sharing her local knowledge with the team to further expand business and awareness within the region.

Simon Cockerill, head of sales at Kent Reliance, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Kate to the team. Her expertise and understanding of the sector and region are fundamental to our commitment to the intermediary sector and development strategy in 2019.”

 

Ex-Barclaycard FD joins Kuflink

Kuflink has hired former Barclaycard financial director, Tim Spurr (pictured), as chief financial officer and director of Kuflink.

The newly appointed CFO will focus on diversifying its funding base and ensuring sustainable growth.

With the company due to launch several new products in the coming months, scalability and consistency will be key drivers of the new financial strategy, it said.

CEO Narinder Khattoare added: “It is no secret that Kuflink have ambitious plans for the future and as soon as we met Tim, it was clear that he is the right person to deliver fantastic results for both the business and our investor community.

“His experience within the industry is as extensive as it is impressive, but his passion for fintech is what really grabbed our attention.”

 

Shawbrook expands residential mortgages team

Shawbrook has appointed Julia Dobell as business development manager covering the South East of England as well as Jasdeep Bhogal as sales operations manager.

Prior to this, Dobell worked in large financial institutions such as Legal & General, Aviva, Aegon, Friends Life, Zurich and most recently, OneFamily.

In her new role, she will be focused upon building relationships with Shawbrook’s key accounts as well as engaging with new partners to broaden distribution within the South East region.

Also reporting to the sales and distribution director, Jas Bhogal will lead the internal broker support team to assist the field-based BDMs in their development of key relationships.

Dobell said: “I am looking forward to a new challenge with a growing company and a strong team. As well as further developing my relationship with the intermediary community in the South East region, I look forward to bringing my expertise to develop Shawbrook’s future growth areas”.

Bhogal added: “There are many exciting improvements to come from Shawbrook in the near future. As such I’m looking to drive our internal sales strategy forward, ensuring that we provide expert support to our brokers through this period of change.”
