Are you an adviser, or a salesman?
I’ve been independent for eight years and my only target is to make the client my first priority. It has worked for me. I work on a self employed basis for an IFA and they set me no targets.
If you recruit the right people with the right service ethic, you won’t need targets. Good point about not making it too complicated or lengthy.
I’ve loved the job but am retiring from the industry at the end of the year, worn down by winning battles you shouldn’t have to fight with lenders of no corporate intelligence or integrity. If all the lenders were small mutuals, I wouldn’t be leaving as the core job is a joy.
