Poll: Are you planning to obtain extra qualifications?
Paradigm’s Bob Hunt has urged mortgage brokers to take level four qualifications to protect themselves against any future requirement changes and to get ahead of the competition.

Hunt, writing in a blog for Mortgage Solutions, said taking extra qualifications would show commitment to the industry.

“From a compliance and client peace of mind view there appears to be no downside to an adviser showing both their ongoing commitment to the profession and that they are highly skilled and competent to carry out a changing job,” he said.

“Of course there is absolutely nothing stopping advisers from treading this path now. The Institute of Financial Services already offers a diploma in mortgage advice and practice which is a level four qualification designed for those who want to show increased skills and knowledge.”
