‘Landlords are willing to let, but lenders prevent them’ – Star Letter 20/10/2017
Each week Mortgage Solutions and its sister title Specialist Lending Solutions select the most thoughtful or thought-provoking comment to be the week's Star Letter.

This week our Star Letter accolade is awarded to Philip Drake for his response to the post: Just two in ten landlords willing to house Universal Credit claimants.

He said: “Part of the reason why private landlords do not let to housing benefit claimants is because the mortgage lender’s terms prevent this. Landlords are willing to let, but lenders prevent them.

“The reason why lenders do not wish housing benefit claimants to become tenants needs to be uncovered.”
