Mortgage Solutions launches RSS Feed
Mortgage Solutions is now offering RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds as part of its daily breaking news service.
RSS offers an easy way to keep up with mortgage industry news throughout the day. RSS feeds automatically update as stories are added across the site, alerting you to the latest news as it breaks. Click on the orange RSS button on the left hand navigation bar to access the Mortgage Solutions breaking news feed.
RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML file that can be read by special feed-reading (news reader) software or a web service you can use from your web browser or desk top. Put the address of our RSS feeds into your reader, and it will display the latest headlines, each one with a synopsis and link that will take you to the full story.
That means you can stay in touch with many different sources of news and information. It is quicker than re-visiting a site several times a day to check for updates and, rather than having to look for new headlines, feed readers scan for updates and display them for you.
Getting started with RSS To view our RSS feeds, you need software called a feed/news reader or aggregator. There are both free and paid for versions available. Feed readers you could try include:
For PC users: FeedDemon
For Mac users: NetNewsWire
Windows/Mac/Linux : Amphetadesk
Web-based reader: Bloglines
Once you have installed a feed reader, you can add Mortgage Solutions RSS feeds by clicking on the RSS feed link above or by going to the section you are interested in and clicking on the link that says ‘RSS feed’.
Setting up a feed differs from one aggregator to another, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed (from the address bar on your browser) and pasting it into your reader.
