Paradigm takes roadshow to NI; First Complete hosts protection roadshows
Paradigm is to hold its first ever event in Northern Ireland for mortgage and protection advisers at the end of this month.

The workshop will take place at the Ramada Plaza in Belfast on Tuesday 26 November and will help advisers prepare for the upcoming Mortgage Market Review implementation. The sessions will be open to all mortgage brokers, not just those affiliated with Paradigm.

Lucy Castledine from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has been announced as the key-note speaker while Antoinette Rizzi from PruProtect and Paradigm’s chief executive Bob Hunt will also make speeches.

Bob Hunt, chief executive of Paradigm Mortgage Services, said: “We fully understand the frustration often felt by advisers in Northern Ireland regarding their access to quality events and their ability to speak with providers and distributors about the opportunities available to them.

“This is why we believe it is so important to hold this round table event in Belfast and the fact we have secured a representative from the FCA to speak about MMR should make this a must-attend event for many mortgage and protection advisers.

“This event is open to all directly authorised advisers, not just members of Paradigm, as we believe it is vitally important all firms ensure their preparation for the regulatory changes that are coming and to hear from their regulator about how they can ensure their ongoing compliance.”

First Complete is also heading on the road to hold protection workshops throughout November. The seminar topics include basic term assurance, income protection, critical illness, family income benefit, trust process, business assurance and whole of life.

The network said the events will help all types of firms improve their protection sales and overcome the common objections and misconceptions of clients.

Events will take place later this month in the Midlands, North West and Scotland regions.

Toni Smith, sales operations director at First Complete, said: “Our key aim for the workshops is to make sure that every single adviser in our network has the skills they need to ensure their clients have the vital protection they need. We want to ensure that every pound of lending is a pound protected, but it doesn’t stop there. As a nation we are massively underinsured, so our workshops will go some way to help bridge the protection gap.

“We take protection very seriously, feedback from the workshops that have already taken place is very positive and they are obviously having a very positive effect as First Complete’s protection figures leapt 15% in the last month.”
