Platform launches seven-year fix
Platform has launched a seven-year fixed rate mortgage with rates from 4.69%.
The seven-year deal forms part of a range of new deals from Platform, which includes two-, four- and ten-year fixed rate mortgages.
The lender said there was a gap in the market for a seven-year fixed deal and it aims to exploit falling interest rates with increasing consumer appetite for longer-term deals.
The seven-year fixed rate is available from 4.69% at 65% LTV up to 80% LTV at 5.29%, with an arrangement fee of £1495.
Platform’s ten-year fixed has rates from 4.99%, the four-year fixed 4.09%, the two-year fixed 3.34% and two-year tracker 2.59%.
All the deals come with free valuation, while free standard legal fees are available for remortgages. They can be used for purchases and remortgages and have an administration fee of £140.

Lee Gladwell, business development director at Platform, said: “Fixed mortgages have picked up significantly in recent months as rates have become more competitive with tracker products. However, these historically low long-term rates may be never to be seen again.
“While many commentators are predicting little movement in interest rates short-term, there’s only one direction they can move in the long-term.
“We therefore believe these are great products for brokers to recommend to those clients that would benefit from the additional security provided from a longer term fix.”
