The UK economy grew by more than expected in Q2 of 2010, boosted by a strong performance from the construction sector.

GDP growth was 1.2% in Q2, up from an initial estimate of 1.1%, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Construction output grew by 8.5% in the second quarter, up from a previous estimate of 6.6%, the ONS says.

However, air transport was one of the weakest sectors falling 11%.
