MAB launches e-training platform
The Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB)has launched a state of the art e-learning training package, allowing advisers to dip in and out of the software.
Broken down into chunks of multi-media learning material, the e-learning exercises, offered in a variety of forms including quizzes, webcasts or webinars, last no longer than 8 to 25 minutes to tally with proven research on broker attention spans.
MAB’s head of learning and development, Lisa Janson, said the Taleo Learn package offers brokers more knowledge in less time and saves the company money.
“We’ve reduced our induction course down from 7 days to 3, which is a huge time saving. Advisers are expected to complete the e-learning component, which includes systems and compliance training, before they come in to start the course,” said Janson.
“It’s more time efficient for brokers, if not for us, but the reward is that people are engaging more than ever before,” she added.
Advisers can complete the 14 mini packages of training in one day – with some modules lasting 8 minutes – or stretch it out, allowing them to write business during the transition from one firm to another, she said.

“We have also produced two e-learning packages on servicing your client bank in the current market and done a campaign to encourage advisers to revisit their banks after Lloyds said 700,000 of its customers would be better off on a fixed rate loan. That went down really well,” she said.
