AA Financial Services is planning to launch its first mortgage range in 2016 in partnership with the Bank of Ireland UK.

AA, more widely known for its breakdown services, currently offers savings products, credit cards, life insurance and loans.

A spokesperson said: “As part of the AA’s new partnership with the Bank of Ireland UK we are looking to provide AA branded mortgages for the first time in 2016. We believe this provides a strategic fit with the AA’s existing home services such as insurance and home emergency cover.”

No further details about the mortgage product range were available.

Bank of Ireland has been made a series of improvements to its processes and widened its distribution in the intermediary market to strengthen its own position in the mortgage market.

In June, the lender, which is also the funding partner for The Post Office, unveiled its online broker application system which it said was the fastest available on the market taking brokers minutes to submit an application.
