Aldermore has appointed James Young as key account manager at its retail mortgage business.

Young will work alongside key account manager Steve Hewitt in developing and growing Aldermore’s relationship with distribution partners.

Young brings to the role more than 13 years of financial services experience within equity release, residential mortgages and annuities.

He was previously national account manager at Hodge for three years, undertaking a lead role in planning sales, events and adviser education activity for the business development department.

The main focus of his role was to establish Hodge’s brand within mainstream residential mortgage intermediary distribution and to develop the lender’s later life proposition.

“James brings a wealth of knowledge and a fantastic reputation among intermediaries and is well known in the mortgage industry,” said Jon Cooper, head of mortgages, omni-channel, at Aldermore.

“He will take a key role enabling us to develop and grow our capability and to deliver to our customers and intermediaries.”

Young (pictured) added: “I look forward to contributing to the continuing success of the bank and using my industry experience to grow and sustain strong intermediary relationships.”

The new role begins at end of November.
