Pepper Money has grown its sales team with Sam Bickerton taking on the role of regional development manager for Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, as well as some parts of London.

In his role he will support broker partners in the region with cases that “fall outside the mould of the mainstream mortgage lender”. This could be due to adverse credit, credit score, or a complex income structure.

He joins from More2Life where he was a business development manager (BDM) for the South East for around a year and before that he worked at Just Group for nearly six years, most recently as BDM.

Before that, he worked at Hub Financial Solutions for over four years in various roles.

Pepper Money: ‘More customer falling outside strict criteria’

Ryan Brailsford, director of business development at Pepper Money, said: “In the current environment, it’s more important than ever for brokers to work closely with their BDMs to understand which lenders are best placed to meet the needs of their customers.

“More and more customers are falling outside of the strict criteria of mainstream lenders due to their income structure, affordability, or credit profile, but there are excellent options with specialist lenders like Pepper Money.

“Sam has a passion for providing consultative support to brokers, providing them with a platform to find great outcomes for their customers. I know he will be an asset to the team and to our intermediaries.”

Bickerton added: “I’m delighted to join Pepper Money at a time when there are so many customers who could benefit from its straightforward approach to clear criteria, individual underwriting, and market leading service. I am looking forward to helping more brokers and their customers realise the benefits of working with Pepper Money.”
