Movera has joined the Open Property Data Association (OPDA) to supporting the digitalisation of the home buying process.

Movera offers digital tools and services that help make the home buying process something to be celebrated – not “endured”.

The firm said that by integrating with OPDA’s open data standards, it aims to “enhance transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and create a faster, more customer-friendly transaction process”.

OPDA has been working on open property data standards that enable “trustable and efficient sharing of data”, which are free and open source, developed in collaboration with industry stakeholders.

The trade body has recently welcomed NatWest Group, HSBC, Nationwide and Lloyds Banking Group (LBG), along with Atom Bank, Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) and Coadjute as members.

The government recently announced plans to improve the home buying and selling process, including shared property data between professionals and plans to bring out digital identity services.

Andrew Taylor, chief technology officer at Movera, said: “Joining OPDA represents a significant milestone in our mission to simplify and streamline the home moving process. We are committed to leveraging technology to create a more seamless and transparent experience for homebuyers.

“By working alongside OPDA and its members, we aim to accelerate the adoption of digital services that will drive greater efficiency and improve customer outcomes across the industry. With OPDA’s framework, we can ensure that critical property data is accessible, accurate, and secure, which will benefit both customers and industry professionals alike.”

Maria Harris, chair of OPDA, said: “Movera’s membership is another step forward in transforming the home buying process. Their expertise in streamlining transactions and commitment to innovation align perfectly with OPDA’s goals.

“Along with the work of our other members, Movera will help drive the adoption of open data standards, reducing inefficiencies and improving what is currently a frustrating experience for homebuyers.”

Movera is a legal services business with brands including ONP Solicitors, Cavendish Legal Group (CLG), LMS, Conveyancing Alliance (CAL), Collaborative Conveyancing and OnPoint.

Each business operates independently but is supported by Movera and its platform.
