McCormack (pictured) has more than 30 years of experience in the sector and was most recently at TSB as its mortgage distribution director. He left the role earlier this year after over a decade at the bank, where he was instrumental in setting up its intermediary proposition.
At Barclays, McCormack will be responsible for leading the lender’s intermediary channel strategy, delivering its broker experience, and shaping the design and delivery of its wider mortgage journey.
The bank said his appointment reflected its broker-first approach and commitment to the intermediary market.
McCormack will take up the position on 1 July and report directly to Lee Chiswell, head of mortgages, as part of a refreshed leadership structure. This is expected to strengthen Barclays’ intermediary presence and market share.
Chiswell said: “The advice process plays a vital role in helping borrowers navigate the home buying journey. We’re deeply committed to helping brokers succeed and want to make it even easier to do business with us.
