Recently launched specialist lender Afin Bank has been added to Mortgage Brain's Sourcing Brain and Criteria Brain modules.

As a result of the partnership with Mortgage Brain, intermediaries will be able to access Afin Bank’s range of residential and BTL mortgages, including products for first-time buyers, homemovers, remortgagors, landlords and investors. This also includes mortgages for properties in England and Wales, and all products are available as fixed rates or flexible trackers.

Afin Bank launched a range of residential and buy-to-let (BTL) mortgages after gaining full banking approval earlier this month, having received its Authorisation with Restrictions (AwR) in October last year.

It is intended to cater primarily to under-served borrowers, particularly people from the African diaspora and other foreign nationals who find it difficult to get a mortgage from mainstream UK lenders. However, the lender also noted that the self-employed and other borrowers who struggle to get a mortgage because of their circumstances may find its offerings suitable.

James Briggs, intermediary sales director at Afin Bank, said: “Joining Mortgage Brain’s Sourcing Brain and Criteria Brain platforms will make it much easier for brokers to access our specialist mortgage range. At Afin Bank, we’re committed to supporting individuals who are often overlooked by traditional lenders, including foreign nationals, diaspora communities, and others whose circumstances make it harder to secure a mortgage.

“Partnering with Mortgage Brain ensures that brokers can find and apply for our products quickly and with confidence, helping more under-served borrowers secure their own property, whether it’s their very first home or a step onto the investment property ladder.”

Neil Wyatt (pictured), Mortgage Brain’s sales and marketing director, said: “A very warm welcome to Afin Bank. Sourcing Brain and Criteria Brain are designed to give brokers the tools they need to match clients with the right lenders and products quickly and efficiently, something that’s especially vital for borrowers with more complex or non-standard circumstances.

“By combining real-time product sourcing with detailed eligibility criteria, our technology helps ensure that under-served borrowers aren’t left behind and can access mortgage options that truly reflect their needs.”
