Handelsbanken has bolstered its business development team with the appointment of Petar Novakovic as broker liaison manager.

Novakovic has worked at Handelsbanken for around two years, most recently as mortgage account manager and before that as private banking manager.

Prior to that, he was a mortgage associate at Largemortgageloans.com for around a year. Before that, he was again at Handelsbanken for around seven years.

Novakovic has also worked at NatWest for around three years.

Steve Macdonald, national head of intermediary business at Handelsbanken, said: “Petar has previously been a mortgage broker and so has the ability to see the intermediary market from that perspective.

“This – coupled with a great track record of delivery in the residential broker market as a private banking manager and as a specialist mortgage account manager for Handelsbanken – makes him a fantastic addition to our business development offering, and I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Novakovic added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the business development team at Handelsbanken. I am really looking forward to collaborating with our broker network – both existing and new – as well as supporting our branch network in writing mortgage business. It is also an opportunity to promote the Handelsbanken story; I think we offer something different and this is a chance to really make that known.”
