Bridging specialist Affirmative Finance has strengthened its underwriting team with the appointment of Jacqui Brack.

Brack will be tasked with handling both residential and commercial bridging loan applications for Affirmative, which is experiencing sustained growth in its business. She joins from a similar position at Beacon Home Loans.

GE Money

GE Money Home Lending has appointed Ian Wilson as its new chief risk officer (CRO), reporting to Colin Shave, chief executive.

Wilson has a wealth of UK banking experience and 15 years’ credit risk experience. He joins the firm from Santander Group, where he held the position of managing director of Abbey Business.

Before working at Abbey, Wilson worked for Royal Bank of Scotland, holding key positions including director of credit risk for retail banking, as well as a period at Ernst & Young as a senior consultant in retail banking.

In his new role, Wilson will be responsible for leading the risk division in continuing to develop and implement processes to ensure best practice across the GE Money Home Lending risk function.

Northern Rock

Rick Hunkin has joined Northern Rock as chief risk officer, starting on 1 September.

Hunkin boasts 28 years’ experience in retail banking, most recently holding the role of chief risk officer at GE Money Home Lending, where he was responsible for all aspects of risk management.

Previously, he spent some time with Lloyds TSB as executive director of Cheltenham & Gloucester, where his responsibilities including setting the strategic direction of the retail savings business.

He will use his risk management expertise to strengthen Northern Rock’s leadership team, and continue its recovery from its high-profile difficulties.

Link Lending

Short-term and bridging lender Link Lending Limited has appointed Dan Elliott as business development manager for the Midlands region, reporting to sales manager Maeve Ward.

Elliot joins from Commercial First, where he was an affinity development manager, and prior to that he has worked for John Charcol, Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays, with a total of nineteen years’ experience in the financial services sector. n
