Tipton and Coseley Building Society

The Tipton and Coseley Building Society has announced changes to its mortgage sales team. Richard Groom has been promoted to business development manager while Sarah Cottam has been appointed as mortgage sales adviser.

Groom joined Tipton in 1994 as trainee branch assistant. He is now responsible for three mortgage advisers and will take charge of the day-to-day running of the mortgage sales team.

Cottam previously worked in the travel industry as a sales adviser before moving to Cheltenham & Gloucester as a cashier, attained a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) and was promoted to mortgage adviser.

Checkmate Mortgages

Checkmate Mortgages has appointed two non-executive directors.

Jeremy Sillem is managing partner and co-founder of private equity firm Spencer House Partners LLP. Prior to establishing Spencer House, he spent 28 years with Lazard LLC in a variety of senior positions followed by a spell as chairman of Bear Stearns International. 

Gerald Gregory was a main board director of Britannia Building Society, managing director of Britannia Capital Investment Group and chairman of all of the Society’s non-member subsidiaries, including Platform Home Loans. He retired from Britannia in March 2008. 

Home Loan Management

HML has made two appointments to its Credit Management and Special Servicing teams.

Mark Metcalfe will be joining as director of credit management. He brings 20 years’ experience in credit management gained in both mortgages and credit cards in the UK and Australia.

He will join the operations executive team where he will develop the early delinquency strategies for HML’s clients.

Metcalfe was previously at GE for 10 years and will report directly to operations director Gordon Soutar.

Ian Carr joins HML as operations director, special servicing. He brings a unique knowledge of special servicing and credibility in the market, having developed the Kensington special servicing team during the past 10 years. He will report to Paul Fenn, managing director, special servicing. n
