Countrywide
Guy Batchelor has joined Countrywide, the estate agency and property services business, as corporate business director.
Batchelor has more than 25 years’ experience in the banking and financial services market, having held board-level roles at both Lehman Brothers and Platform in recent years.
He has also chaired the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association and was a member of the executive committee of the Council of Mortgage Lenders between 2003 and 2008.
In his new role, he will be responsible for corporate business development across the group, including Countrywide’s estate agency, lettings, surveying, mortgage, conveyancing and asset management divisions.
Batchelor will initially work alongside and then succeed John Williams, who has been with Countrywide for more than 18 years.
The appointment coincides with Countrywide’s decision to bring together its corporate development activities across the Group in to one team.
ifs School of Finance
The ifs School of Finance has appointed two new board members.
Cathy Turner, group HR director of Barclays and Professor Arnoud de Meyer, former dean of graduate business school INSEAD and currently director of the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, have joined the ifs board of governors.
Homeloan Management Ltd
Homeloan Management Limited (HML) has announced the appointment of Julian Wells as director of marketing.
Wells joins on a consultancy basis with immediate effect and will be responsible for the firm’s marketing strategy and promotional activity.
He will report to Neil Warman, finance and commercial director, and will be based in the firm’s Skipton offices.
Warman said: “Like all financial organisations, we are evolving our strategy to fit within the forming market landscape.
“There is no doubt in my mind the brand positioning and marketing of our proposition has a bigger role to play than ever before.
“Julian has a proven track record of devising and delivering high quality marketing.” n
