The Legal & General network has introduced a life insurance referral service for clients declined by its parent company.

L&G has set up a Central Advice Unit (CAU) to deal direct with customers on behalf of advisers and offer the best alternative from a panel of providers including AXA, BUPA and Bright Grey for Term and Critical Illness, UNUM for Income Protection and Partnership.

L&G said it may turn down clients for several reasons including age or because the client is in a profession the insurer is unable to cover.

Other additions to the range include removals insurance, high net worth household cover and private medical cover.

Duncan Crocker, managing director, Legal & General network, said: “The combination of all parts of the proposition means advisers can now feel confident they have the right tools in place to help them look after their existing customers and gives them reasons to talk to and attract new ones.”
