Barclays restructures intermediary division
Barclays has restructured its intermediary relationship management team to help provide better service to advisers.

The lender said the restructure will help to ensure that the right contacts are in place for intermediaries.

Barclays announced that two new national relationships managers will be responsible for developing and managing relationships. The national relationship managers will report to Sarah Green, who will become head of national relationships.

The lender also confirmed that it will continue to have intermediary relationship managers who will work at a geographical level, supported by a new team of telephone-based managers.

There are currently eight new roles but Barclays expects this to double over the next year. The bank will also appoint a person to work with all key distributors. Up to six people will lose their jobs as a result of the restructure.

A spokesperson for Barclays said: “We have reviewed our distribution strategy to ensure we continue to improve our service to intermediaries.

“We must ensure we continue to adapt to the changing needs of the intermediary mortgage market and that they have the right contacts in the right place at the right time.

“This is part of Barclays ongoing approach to making improvements to service, systems and processes, enhancing the end-to-end process for brokers and their clients.”
