Today is Bright Grey and Scottish Provident managing director Roger Edwards' last day in his role as he leaves to focus on marketing, social media, speaking - and yoga teaching.

Edwards (pictured) announced his would be leaving the Royal London group – which owns Bright Grey and Scottish Provident – after 12 years in May.

He made the decision not to be considered for a role in the group as it undergoes a restructure.

In an email today he said he would now be going on gardening leave before moving on to ‘future opportunities and dreams’ – including teaching yoga.

“It’s over 12 years since six of us started building Bright Grey – with six chairs and six mobile phones – and it has been an amazing adventure and experience,” he said.

“I have met and worked with some inspirational people. And then once Bright Grey was launched along came Scottish Provident again and I had the chance to once more work with old colleagues.

“My future thoughts are focussed on marketing, social media, speaking and teaching yoga. But I don’t think I will entirely leave the protection market behind and look forward to working with some of you again.”
