This year’s nomination process has been simplified and those looking to vote can simply log onto the submissions page HERE to enter their vote.
The awards celebrate the best industry figures and business leaders including lenders, broker firms and product providers.
Changes have also been made to simplify the judging process itself. This year, when voting closes the shortlist will be drawn up based on the number and breadth of industry nominations.
Those nominees that make the shortlist in each category will be contacted and asked to submit a supporting testimonial, which they can write themselves or have written by colleagues or friends.
Next, shortlists will be whittled down to five in the broker categories and three in the business leader, lender and other categories.
Finally, the categories will be split into two. Nominees in the business leader, lender and other categories will be submitted to the judging panel to pick a winner.
For the broker categories, the judges will be asked to review the testimonials and suggest their top three nominees from the initial shortlist of five.
These top three nominees will then be invited to attend a short 15 minute interview in front of a hand-picked panel of judges. The winners of the broker categories will be determined from these interviews based on the recommendation of the judges.
“We feel this adds a layer of transparency to the judging process while making the nomination process much simpler and more accessible,” said Iain Cartlidge, publishing director, Incisive mortgage division.
The nominations close on May 2 and the British Mortgage Awards 2014 ceremony takes place at London’s Westminister Park Plaza Hotel on July 10.
