Tesco Bank mortgage intermediary team and distribution plans revealed
Tesco Bank moves closer to launching its intermediary mortgage proposition after talks with John Charcol and several others and its appointment of sales veteran Dave Gillam to head up key accounts.

Mortgage Solutions understands the lender plans to launch residential mortgages close to quarter two this year.

Gillam joins the bank from TSB where he worked as national account manager for its mortgage proposition. He describes himself as a ‘pioneer’ having brought new businesses into the intermediary market, according to his Linked in profile. Prior to TSB, Gillam worked for Barclays/ING Direct as head of intermediary sales and national accounts before becoming national new build manager.

In January, Tesco Bank appointed Mike Cutler head of mortgage intermediaries. Cutler had previously spent two years working as programme consultant for the Tesco intermediary mortgage range. During his career in mortgages, Cutler has worked for Barclays/ING Direct, Kensington Mortgages and Gmac.

A Tesco Bank spokesperson said: “We don’t comment on this type of speculation and, as previously stated, we intend to offer mortgages through brokers in 2016.”

John Charcol also declined to comment.
