A complaint was made to the ASA about a property listed in a brochure for a housing development, with the suggestion that it was misleading. This was because the complainant understood that the estate entrance, and therefore the correct road name, was not as stated in the brochure.
Bellway Homes explained to the ASA that the brochure had been produced before construction work began, at which point the original entrance to the site was as listed in the brochure.
It accepted that now the development was underway the site entrance had moved, and confirmed that the correct address had been applied to all other marketing products.
The builder also promised to ensure that when future brochures were printed the new address will be used.
As a result the ASA considered the matter resolved and closed the case informally.
