Kevin Rose steps back as BestAdvice editor to join Square 1 Media
PR and marketing agency Square 1 Media has appointed Kevin Rose as its latest senior account director, after he stepped back as editor of the news website last week.

Kevin Rose joins the Square 1 Media team where he will be responsible for managing a range of client accounts, plus he will focus on developing ancillary services to Square 1’s existing client roster and helping bring on board new clients.

Rose joins Square 1 with over 23 years’ experience in financial services journalism and publishing. He helped established and develop the BestAdvice news website and has worked in a number of related fields including contract publishing with various financial businesses, plus produced the popular Sound Advice podcasts.

He has also launched and edited a number of industry titles and written for other trades and national newspapers.

Paul Hunt, director at Square 1 Media, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin to the Square 1 Media team. He brings with him a wealth of experience and contacts across financial services and there will be very few people in this market who aren’t aware of Kevin and the excellent reputation he has for quality work.”

Kevin Rose said: “I’ve known the Square 1 guys for many years and have been impressed by the quality of their proposition and output.

“I’m very much looking forward to helping develop the Square 1 offering and being part of a dynamic and modern agency.”

Kevin will be working closely with the other Square 1 Directors – Paul Hunt, Alex Hammond, Scott Philipson and Rob Griffiths – to help grow the agency as it broadens its scope, identifying opportunities for existing and new clients.

Last week, the website confirmed his departure after 13 years as editor

Rose said: “BestAdvice has been a big part of my life for the last 20 years. I am incredibly proud of what BestAdvice has achieved and become over that time.”
