HSBC is unveiling an emerging talent event which aims to celebrate the up-and-coming mortgage broker talent across the industry.
The event will be at the Savoy Theatre in London on 13 June to recognise the rising-star brokers in the mortgage industry.
The aim is to have 25 people at the event in total, with key industry speakers and HSBC UK senior leaders due to talk at the event.
The bank will approach the top 15 emerging talent brokers to see who they are “earmarking” as their future talent, which the broker firms will then nominate for the event.
There are no set performance criteria around who can be nominated, but they should have a “proven track record of putting the customer at the heart of everything they do and have a real desire and passion to exceed”.
Chris Pearson (pictured), head of intermediary mortgages at HSBC, said: “We don’t think there is that much being done on emerging talent. We thought ‘why don’t we look at what we can do with the talent that is going to be leading the industry in the next 10 years or so?’ That’s where the idea came from.”
Topics that will be discussed at the event include climate change, the economic environment, as well as several career-focused sessions on how to develop, grow and frame your career.
“This is all aimed at brokers and this is us trying to give something back,” Pearson said.
